«What makes a triathlete successful is what he does and how he reacts when the going gets tough»
«The most important thing is to learn from those mistakes»
Nadezhda is a very talented woman, she is a first class triathlete, designer, artist, USAT certified trainer, model and Triathlon and Fitness editor for the Pedalnorth portal.
Based in the US in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Nadezhda was born and raised in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, a city that is the administrative center of the krai. This city has a population of approximately 1,095,286 inhabitants.
The hometown of Nadezhda is located on both banks of the Yenisei River (Siberia), it is an incredible place for all kinds of activities and winter sports, since its winter season lasts from 3 to 4 months a year with natural snow, mountains around and a ski resort in town.
Nadezhda commented in an interview that almost all children, from a young age, learn to walk, ski and snowboard at the same time.
As a curious fact, she used to snowboard, especially with the boys, with the dream of going to the Olympic Games, until one day she took a big jump, in which, unfortunately, she fell badly and her spine was severely injured, An experience which he commented to the portal en.nrceyewear.com, but this did not prevent him from continuing with his training in swimming and athletics, with which he once again strengthened his spine and today is an outstanding example of international triathlon.
Nadezhda stated: “I did not believe the doctor regarding the degree of my injury; and I started to strengthen my back muscles, I swam a lot, I recovered and, later, I participated and finished an Ironman distance race”.
With these words and with the interview that she gave us, we were able to say that it is the desire, the willpower and the love for sport, the complements that serve as therapy and help to overcome many injuries.

¿Tell us a little about who is Nadezhda Pavlova? ¿What job do you have?
I’m a triathlete, designer and owner of cycling clothing brand for women DS PRO Apparel. I’ve competed in many triathlon competitions, including Ironman 70.3 World Championship 2016 in Australia, I’ve done a full Ironman in Barcelona 2016 (second place, where I qualified for the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii Kona).
¿Tell us a little about riding a bike in your actual city?
Florida is a paradise for cyclists – all year- with warm weather and sunshine. Only South Florida has flat topography, if you need some mountain experience, we have California and Colorado for that.
¿How safe is it to ride a bike in your town? ¿Are there exclusive routes for cyclists in your country?
It’s pretty safe here in south Florida, USA. We have a separate bike lane for cyclists . But you always have to watch out for drivers who can suddenly turn without showing indicators, or drivers in parked cars who are entering traffic. The drivers are kind and tolerant but sometimes they just don’t see you or don’t pay attention.
Florida is doing everything it can to make cyclists feel safe.
¿What is the bike for you? ¿What benefits has the bike brought you in your daily life?
As for many other cyclists, my bike is my freedom! It’s that precious time to spend alone by myself, feeling the wind and speed. Cycling brings absolute happiness, fun, it’s an ideal relief from the stress of work and life, and a way of getting fit. There are few sports that can offer as much as cycling can.
¿Why do you think the bike is one of the best mobility options?
It’s safe for the environment, and a low cost form of transport, it lifts your spirit and allows you to burn unwanted calories.
¿How far have you traveled with your bike?
I’ve traveled to different continents with my bike – to Asia, Europe, Australia, North America. Cycling is more than just a sport or hobby, it’s a lifestyle, and a different way of traveling and exploring new places. Cycling is life.
¿What bike or bikes do you have? ¿Which one do you like best? ¿And tell us why?
I have two bikes – one is a road bike, Trek Madone, and the other is a TT Bike Specialized. I’m deeply in love with both of them, they are fast and good looking! Generally, whichever I’m riding at the moment is my favorite and it depends on the mood and task (which races or trips I’m training for)
If I had more time and money I would have more favorite bikes.
¿How did you get started in competitions? ¿What is your biggest dream, tell us how far you want to go and why?
It was 2014 when I first saw a triathlon race on the Spanish Island of Mallorca. When I saw all the participants swimming, running and biking, I knew that I needed to be there! I came back to my country and started preparing for my first sprint triathlon race. And it was addictive! I’ve done another sprint, Olympic, multiple half Ironman and a Full Ironman.
My dream is to travel to Colombia, to the Pyrenees mountains in Spain and ride “The queen of the pass roads” Passo dello Stelvio to get those unforgettable views, climbs, downhill descent and pain)
¿How do you think you would improve your skills?
I’m currently training for my first TT 12 mile race. There are some objectives I focus on to prepare for the event: adaptation to the time trial bike and position, maximizing lactate threshold output, high intensity efforts sprints, greater than race speed (I found that Zwift training works pretty well for this.) I also focus on strength training (squats and core stability) and stretching of the lower back, glutes and hamstrings in my workout routine.
¿What would be your biggest safety advice for all those who start, or who are already riding a bike?
Bicyclists are vulnerable road users. They should be aware of it. But even if you are right, and the driver is wrong, they can still kill you. Always take safety precautions, like using lights and signals – to turn, slow down, or stop. And wear a helmet)
